Wish you a very Happy 67th Independence Day!!!
Hello everybody.
I hope you all have a safe and Happy Independence Day filled with parades, flag hoisting ceremonies, family fun and above all - being together and remembering our freedom fighters without whom, we would not have seen the light of this day. Let us take a moment amid all the festivities to remember what our Independence Day is all about - what happened 67 years ago, and what it meant to the world.
On August 15, 1947, we attained freedom following an independence movement noted for largely non-violent resistance led by Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation and other leading freedom fighters. It is this day when we as a free nation declared that we are FREE - free to think, free to work and trade, free to live, free to learn, free to assume responsibility as citizens of a free nation. It was a declaration that was heard around the world - that we are no longer colonies of British rule, we are Indians and our destiny would not be determined for us; it would be determined by us.
As now, 67 years later, our country is the greatest country in the world. Generations of Indians made our country what it is today - farmers, teachers, doctors, accountants, entrepreneurs, leaders, social service organization - people from all walks of life - all pulling in the same direction. This determination to excel marks a difference and help us grow as a country at a very rapid pace.
I would like to say a special word of thanks to all the freedom fighters who have played such a vital role in the history of our nation. We are grateful for your service and your sacrifice.
Now is the time, we the people, must make the task of taking that big leap forward. Lions Clubs’ initiatives play a significant role in leading by example for others both at an individual level as well as at an organizational level. Let us take the oath that we will, I repeat, we will create a congruence of energies to converge the “impossible” to I’M POSSIBLE. This enables us to imagine the possibilities and explore opportunities. Together, we can.
To all my fellow Lions and everybody in India, we must remember and learn that together, we are all champions of change and it is our determination and goal to serve.
WE SERVE.
Jai Hind.
Happy Independence day to all.
Best,

Unleash your inner Lion. This 30 second Public Service Announcement uses humor to look at what is inside all of us: a little Lion. |
I feel immense proud to say that I am a Lion because you see the joy in people’s hearts and they say thank you, and the smile of a child. It’s all those things that make you realize you’ve done something for your community.
Trying to work out of my office commitments had always been a challenge. With Lions Club, I developed a new sense of achievement and felt proud in providing my time and efforts towards aiding the needy. Thanks to Lions Club - a wonderful aggregation of talent!!
